On Friday morning, the Sawfar road towards the capital, Beirut, witnessed a stifling traffic crisis and an almost complete interruption of vehicle movement, as a result of a traffic accident involving a tanker truck.
Field information indicated that lifting mechanisms arrived at the scene of the accident to begin lifting the damaged truck and removing debris and obstacles from the road, in preparation for reopening it to traffic as soon as possible.
This accident occurred under difficult weather conditions represented by heavy fog and a noticeable decline in horizontal visibility in the area, which prompted the concerned authorities to warn drivers of the need to exercise the utmost caution and commit to reducing speed in order to preserve their safety.
