Bayern Munich announces updates on Kompany’s health condition following a sudden illness

German club Bayern Munich announced the improvement in the health condition of its Belgian coach, Vincent Kompany, after he suffered a sudden health problem last Friday, which led to his collapse while watching the reserve team’s training, which required his transfer to the hospital to receive the necessary medical examinations.

In this context, the club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, confirmed the stability of Kompany’s condition, explaining that the medical team continues to conduct tests to determine the exact causes of the illness, and indicating that his absence from leading the team may extend for several weeks. It is noteworthy that the Belgian coach had previously suffered from a viral infection that temporarily kept him from training before he resumed his duties.

For his part, assistant coach Aaron Danks explained on Tuesday that Kompany’s health condition is gradually improving, pointing out that he is in high spirits, but he indicated that the date for his official return has not yet been set pending the completion of a comprehensive medical evaluation.

Kompany’s absence comes at a critical time for the Bavarian team, which is preparing for decisive confrontations, most notably the summit match against Borussia Dortmund in the German League, and facing Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Champions League competition.
