Apple is moving to bring about a radical shift in the design of its laptop computers and the way to interact with them, by developing the first version of the “MacBook Pro” equipped with a touch screen, in a step that ends years of complete separation between “Mac” devices and “iPad” tablets.
It is expected that the new device will allow users to combine the use of the keyboard and trackpad with direct control via the screen, providing additional options for navigating between applications and performing tasks more smoothly.
The company announced the opening of pre-orders for the device on Wednesday, with its official launch on the market on November 6th. It is available in two sizes: 14 and 16 inches, and is supported by an “OLED” screen and “M5 Pro” and “M5 Max” processors. Prices for the smaller version start at $2,899, while the larger version is available at a price starting at $3,399.
Apple explained that the new screen was designed to serve creative groups such as designers, musicians, and content makers, as it allows them to perform direct tasks with touch, including drawing and direct control of applications, noting that integrating touch sensors into the screen contributes significantly to improving response speed during use.
