Today, the Minister of Labor, Mohamed Haider, issued a decision extending the implementation of Resolution No. 157/1 issued on November 16, 2025, regarding regularizing the status of violators of the decree regulating the work of foreigners, until December 31, 2026 inclusive.
This decision comes in response to the demands of several economic sectors that were granted a final deadline to continue regulating their foreign workers, and to enable employers to regularize the conditions of these workers in accordance with the aforementioned decision. The extension also aims to make room for those wishing to correct their legal situations who were previously unable to do so due to security and economic conditions, in addition to accommodating the numbers who failed to complete their transactions within the previous deadlines as a result of strong demand.
In the details of the decision, Article One stipulated extending the implementation of Resolution No. 157/1 dated 11/16/2025 until 12/31/2026 inclusive. The second article clarifies that applications for regularization of status are submitted either in person at the Ministry of Labor or via the “Liban Post” mail service.
On the other hand, Article Three stipulates that the Ministry of Labor will continue, throughout the extension period, to carry out field inspection campaigns on institutions and employers, and to direct the necessary observations to them to correct their conditions and the conditions of their foreign workers in accordance with applicable laws. The article obligates those concerned to correct violations and adhere to observations within a maximum period of 15 days from the date of reporting, provided that the necessary legal warnings are sent to violators in the event of non-compliance within the specified period, according to the nature of the violation and the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.
