A rapid depression changes the scene.. Thunderstorms and fog invade the mountains!A rapid depression changes the scene.. Thunderstorms and fog invade the mountains!

Today, Monday, Lebanon is experiencing deceptive weather stability during the daylight hours, before the weather map turns upside down as the evening and night hours approach. Driven by the arrival of a rapid and rapidly effective autumn depression, it imposes a noticeable drop in temperatures and prepares the atmosphere for scattered rain showers and thunderstorms starting from the northern gate of the country.

Evening fluctuations… and the north is the first to receive

  • Quiet day before shift: During the day, partly cloudy conditions prevail with high clouds, with relatively stable temperatures and limited chances of precipitation, before the weather changes completely with the arrival of night.
  • Siege of clouds and fog: Cumulus clouds thicken at night and temperatures drop rapidly, accompanied by the formation of dense fog that suffocates the mountain highlands and leads to low horizontal visibility on vital roads.
  • Rain and the capital stock exchange: Initial precipitation is concentrated over the northern regions, while estimates vary regarding the showers spreading quickly to the capital, Beirut, during the late night hours.
  • Wind and sea: Active northwesterly winds blow at speeds ranging between 10 and 30 km/h, while coastal humidity is between 55 and 70%, and the sea remains wavy with a surface water temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.

Tuesday…the peak of volatility and scattered thunder

Observers agree that Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be the most turbulent and violent day In this low:

  • Heavy rain and thunderstorms: The weather will turn partly cloudy to cloudy with an additional drop in temperature, accompanied by scattered rain that intensifies in the northern regions and is accompanied by thunder, lightning flashes, and active downward winds.
  • Gradual breakthroughs: The intensity of the rain gradually decreases starting in the afternoon hours, until the weather stabilizes completely by the evening.

Wednesday and Thursday: new warm stability

  • Wednesday: The clouds recede and stable conditions return with rising temperatures and partly cloudy to partly cloudy weather.
  • Thursday: Temperatures continue their upward trend above seasonal averages, coinciding with a clear decline in surface humidity levels.
