One person was killed and 13 others were injured, Saturday morning, as a result of a horrific collision that occurred between a minibus carrying workers belonging to an oil company, and a heavy transport truck loaded with marble, on the “Ras Gharib – Al-Zafarana” road in the Egyptian Red Sea Governorate.
The operations room of the Red Sea Ambulance Facility had received a report stating that the accident had occurred at kilometer 20 of the aforementioned road, as a result of a microbus carrying a “work shift” belonging to an oil company colliding with a heavy transport truck.
Immediately, the authorities sent a large number of ambulances to the site of the accident, where first aid was provided to the injured at the site, before they were urgently transferred to Ras Gharib Central Hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment and care, while the victim’s body was transferred to the hospital morgue to be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecution in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures.
In the same context, the security services moved to the site of the accident to determine its circumstances, where they worked to remove its effects and restore traffic flow normally. They wrote a report on the incident and notified the competent judicial authorities to initiate investigations to uncover the causes of the accident.
