Ella Wawiyeh, spokeswoman for the Israeli army, announced that army forces and border guards carried out, on Monday night, an operation in the village of Jalud in the West Bank aimed at dispersing a group of Israelis whom she described as “troublemakers,” with the aim of protecting the residents of the village and securing the return of a Palestinian family to their home. She explained that the family had previously been forced to leave their home after being exposed to attacks that she described as “criminal on a nationalistic background,” noting that acts of violence prevented the successful completion of the process of their return.
According to what Wawiya published on the “X” platform, more than 100 Israelis were present in the village, where they closed roads, set fire to rubber tires, and threw stones at security forces, in addition to burning buildings belonging to Palestinians and setting fire to vehicles and other property.
The confrontations resulted in three border guards being slightly injured, in addition to damaging a security vehicle. The forces resorted to crowd dispersal means, and arrested two people who were transferred to the Judea and Samaria District Police to complete investigations.
The spokeswoman added that investigation and forensic teams will later go to the site of the events, under the protection of the Israeli army, to collect evidence and data and take statements within the framework of the open investigation.
At the conclusion of the statement, Wawiyya conveyed the condemnation of the security services for the attacks that targeted their members while performing their duties, as well as the burning and sabotage of property, considering that such events undermine stability and distract the security forces from their duties.
