A 14-year-old Israeli boy was killed and his mother was injured, as a result of a Russian drone targeting a residential building in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, on Friday morning.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the boy’s death and condemned the attack, according to a report prepared by journalists Dov Gil Har Ram Brands for the Israeli Broadcasting Authority “Kan.” The Ministry explained that the Israeli consul in Kiev and the department concerned with Israelis abroad have been following up on the incident since the first moments of receiving the report, and are in constant contact with the family to provide the necessary support and assistance.
For its part, the Federations of Jewish Communities in Ukraine explained that the attack occurred around eight in the morning, noting that the family had previously immigrated to Israel before returning to live in Ukraine about 20 years ago.
In a statement, the communities condemned the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine, which result in casualties on a daily basis, pointing out that this is the fifth holiday season that the communities are experiencing in light of the war, as they try to maintain their routine of life amid extremely difficult circumstances, and concluding by saying: “We pray for peace and complete salvation soon.”
