Lebanese MP Jamil Al-Sayyed returned to raising the issue of those he described as “mercenaries,” referring to political, media, judicial and military figures who he said had changed their positions and changed their loyalties according to the change in political and security conditions.
In his post on the “X” platform, Al-Sayyed responded to his followers’ questions about the identities of these figures, saying: “To those who asked who these mercenaries are, I say everyone knows them between yesterday and today, by names, voice and image, and whoever mentions them in his comment here, no insults or obscenities.”
This position comes as an extension of a hypothetical debate that Al-Sayyed opened earlier, in which he pointed out that “when circumstances turn, mercenaries turn with them.” He explained that since the outbreak of the Gaza War and the subsequent increasing pressure on Hezbollah, figures who had previously been close to the party “for interest or money” have disavowed it, moved to the ranks of the opposition, or remained silent and their voices disappeared.
Al-Sayyid concluded his previous position by saying: “Always remember that your dog today is someone else’s dog tomorrow.”
