Representative Sami Gemayel received, at the Central Phalange House in Saifi, the new ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Dosari, in an introduction visit during which Lebanese-Saudi relations and the latest developments on the Lebanese and regional arenas were discussed, in the presence of the head of the party’s foreign relations apparatus, Marwan Abdullah.
During the meeting, Gemayel stressed the importance of the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting Lebanon, stressing the depth of the historical relations that bring together the two countries and peoples, and the importance of developing them in a way that serves Lebanon’s interest, stability and sovereignty.
Gemayel also wished Ambassador Al-Dosari success in his new diplomatic missions, expressing his hope that his mission would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia and developing cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The meeting comes within the framework of a series of contacts and political and diplomatic visits that directly accompany Ambassador Al-Dosari on his duties in Beirut, at a time when Lebanese-Saudi relations are witnessing renewed momentum, with continued communication between Riyadh and Lebanese officials and political forces regarding political, economic and security files.
The relationship with the Kingdom is of particular importance on the Lebanese scene, given Saudi Arabia’s historical role in supporting Lebanon and its institutions, in addition to the broad economic and social relations between the two countries and the presence of large numbers of Lebanese working in the Gulf countries, which makes developing bilateral relations one of the basic issues raised in the next stage.
