
The head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Representative Taymour Jumblatt, received, in his office in Clemenceau, a delegation from the Association of Public Administration Employees, in the presence of a member of the Democratic Gathering, Representative Wael Abu Faour, the Secretary-General of the Progressive Party, Dhafer Nasser, Jumblatt’s advisor, Hossam Harb, and the Secretary-General of the Labor Liberation Front, Alwaleed Shamit.
During the meeting, the delegation presented a demand paper that included a series of new ranks and salaries, approving the rotation system, improving the transportation allowance, and including all contractors in the retirement plan, in addition to improving the conditions of permanent employees.
The delegation placed Jumblatt in the atmosphere of continuous suffering experienced by employees in light of the difficult living and economic conditions that the country is going through.
For his part, Jumblatt stressed the need to provide justice to public administration employees and secure their job and living rights, in a way that ensures the continuity of public administration and its ability to carry out its role.
He expressed interest in the demands presented, while it was agreed to continue communication and follow-up with the representatives of the “Democratic Gathering” to keep pace with the demands included in the paper, and to work to deliver the right demands of public administration employees, contractors and employees to the relevant authorities, in an effort to find appropriate solutions for them.
