Two people were injured as a result of a traffic accident that occurred on the Naameh Highway towards Khaldeh, as a result of a collision of 5 vehicles, which led to heavy traffic on the lane.
A cyclist from the Baabda Traffic Detachment came to the scene, where he is working to address the repercussions of the accident and organize traffic, in an attempt to ease congestion and restore the flow of traffic on the highway.
The accident caused traffic confusion on one of the main axes linking the south, Beirut and its suburbs, especially since the Naameh Highway usually witnesses a high density of vehicle traffic during daylight hours.
This axis is considered one of the vital roads leading towards Khaldeh and the capital, which makes any accident that occurs on it a quick cause for the formation of queues of cars, especially when it involves more than one vehicle and requires intervention to regulate traffic and remove the damaged cars from the road.
Accidents occur frequently on Lebanese highways as a result of multiple factors, including speed and failure to leave a sufficient safety distance between vehicles, in addition to traffic density and sudden changes in traffic, which increases the possibility of successive collisions.
The importance of rapid intervention by traffic personnel in such accidents is highlighted, whether in terms of organizing vehicle movement or reducing congestion over long distances, in parallel with ensuring the arrival of ambulance teams when needed.
No additional details are yet available regarding the nature of the injuries of the two wounded, while the accident and traffic movement on the Naameh Highway towards Khaldeh are continuing to be addressed.
