Pezeshkian: This is the reason for the high prices in Iran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian attributed the rise in prices in the country to the increase in import costs, the decline in oil revenues, and the damage to a number of factories as a result of the recent attacks. He said during a meeting with the secretaries-general of political parties and activists, that “high prices have become a natural matter under the current circumstances.”
He added, “Goods that were previously imported via direct, shorter routes now pass via longer routes, which led to an increase in their final cost.”

He pointed out that “government revenues declined due to Iran’s inability to sell oil at the levels it had achieved previously, which was reflected in the country’s economic and financial situation.”

The Iranian President indicated that a number of factories were damaged during the attacks, explaining that in this case the government cannot collect taxes from them, but is forced to provide them with financial aid to ensure their continued activity. (Erm News)
