Journalist Sami Kleib commented on the conflicting statements between Washington and Tehran regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz, with each party adhering to its version of who controls the waterway and the movement of ships through it.
Kleib wrote, in a post on the “X” platform, that US President Donald Trump says: “We have complete control over the Strait of Hormuz,” in exchange for the spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbia headquarters in Iran confirming that “no ship can safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz without an Iranian permit.”
Kleib summed up this contradiction with a sarcastic comment, saying: “And the strait says: Have mercy on me.”
