The Spanish Football Federation announced that the 2027 Spanish Super Cup will be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul, after Saudi Arabia hosted the tournament during the past five years.
The Spanish Federation explained that moving the tournament from Saudi Arabia was due to the Kingdom hosting the 2027 Asian Cup, whose dates coincide with the Spanish Super Cup.
The tournament will be held during the period from 2 to 7 February 2027, with the participation of four clubs: Barcelona, champion of the Spanish League for the 2025/2026 season, Real Sociedad, champion of the Spanish King’s Cup, Real Madrid, runner-up of the league champion, and Atletico Madrid, runner-up of the King’s Cup.
The tournament partly coincides with the 2027 Sia Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia during the period from January 7 to February 5, 2027.
