Units of the Lebanese army, with the support of the navy and air forces, arrested the “Hawk III” ship after a marine chase 30 miles from the coast, based on a judicial decision, after trying to escape regional waters after extinguishing the automatic tracking system.

The ship had emptied part of its cargo in the Al -Jaya factory, then the taste factory was set to complete the investigations, but it took advantage of the movement between the laboratories to escape, prompting the discriminatory public prosecutor to an order to seize it and prevent it from leaving.

A judicial source supervising the investigations said that the initial investigation led to the fact that the ship was loaded with an oil charge from Russia, and during its path to Lebanon it stopped in Mersin in Turkey for a long time, while the company changed its papers until it became proven that the ship was loaded from Türkiye.

The source said that the captain “was arrested with a reference from the Prosecutor of Discrimination, Judge Jamal Al -Hajjar,” pointing out that “the first part of the investigations affects forgery with the restrictions of the enthusiasm, while the second file affects the issue of the escape of the ship and the captain.”
Al -Diyar wrote: The investigations revealed the involvement of the company “Sahara Energy” in falsifying the fuel documents, as it is suspected of importing a cheap Russian Viola (subject to a limited price from Russia), and has hidden its true origin to sell it to the Lebanese state at the global market price, which achieves illegal profits. This attempt to escape strengthen suspicions, which raises the fear that this is not an isolated incident but rather part of a wider network of forged imports.
For its part, the Ministry of Energy explained that it relied on “Manifest” the shipment, which indicates that its source is Turkey, and confirmed that any forgery in the documents is not within its powers, and that it referred the file to the judiciary, and refused to take responsibility for the documentary manipulation.
