A surprise about Hizbullah in a remote state .. What does an American report reveal?

The Foundation for the Defense of the American Democrats (FDD) has published a new report in which it spoke about activities that “Hezbollah” was practicing in Canada.

In its report translated by “Lebanon 24”, the Foundation said that the Canadian government issued last week its report for 2025, which assesses the risk of money laundering and terrorist financing in Canada.
The government’s report, according to “FDD”, indicated that Hizbah uses illegal and other legal channels in the country to finance its activities in Lebanon, including the exploitation of the charitable and non -profit sectors, and continued: “One of the prominent examples of this is the continuation of Hizbullah in the exploitation of the used car trade to increase revenues. Also, the port of Montreal in the province of Quebec is a known point of which the luxury cars are shipped to Lebanon, which supports Hezbollah financially. ”
He continued: “In 2011, the American Prosecutor of the Southern Region of New York and the Anti -Narcotics Administration filed a joint complaint against a Lebanese bank and a network of companies related to Hezbollah, including American shipping companies and cars. The case claimed, among other matters, that from January 1, 2007 to early 2011, Lebanese financial institutions have transferred at least 329 million dollars to nearly 30 car buyers In the United States – most of them are in Michigan, but also in Tennessee, Maryland and Contecticut – through exchange offices to buy and ship used cars to West Africa as part of a money laundering plan.
He continued: “The cars were transported from the United States by the transport company, Sibamar Swiss GMPH (Michigan, based in Michigan, and owned by a person linked to Hezbollah called Osama Salhab and his relatives, to West Africa, where a large Lebanese Shiite community has a close link with Hezbollah, including financial relations. From there, money was transferred from sales, along with revenues The smuggling of drugs, to Lebanon through a system controlled by Hezbollah, includes money transfer companies, money smugglers, transfers and intermediaries of currencies, as the group seized large parts of the money.
The report claimed that “Hezbollah Canada has always been used as a permanent center for fundraising and money laundering,” noting that “the presence of the party in Canada is a former and ancient,” and added: “In October 2002, the documents of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) revealed that Hizbullah was using Canada as an external base to collect funds and buy the supplies needed to carry out and register attacks against Israel. The group is the money of tens of thousands of dollars through Canadian banks, while it was withdrawn from accounts to buy military equipment.
He continued: “These operations extended to at least the early nineties, and included clients from Hizbullah who immigrated to Canada with their families. These have used Canada to buy equipment, falsify travel documents, collect money, and steal luxury cars – which are similar activities to those mentioned in the 2025 report. According to the Canadian Intelligence and Security Agency (CSIS), Hezbollah is sent in Hezbollah in In 1999 and 2000, he lists of purchases directly to these customers working within its networks in Vancouver and Montreal, who carried out requests and returned the equipment to Lebanon in postal parcels.
He continued: “Moreover, these networks used Canadian banks, such as Nova Skosha Bank, to transport hundreds of thousands of dollars to finance Hezbollah purchases. Likewise, life insurance was concluded for elements of Hzel, Israel killed them during clashes with its forces.”
He added: As a result, Ottawa, Hezbollah, fully banned on December 10, 2002, but this inclusion did not succeed in curbing the group’s activities in Canada or eradicating its elements. In 2011, the National Post reported that a potential involvement of Hezbollah in the extortion network, among other activities, used local agents to threaten Lebanese expatriates to force them to buy vehicles that were intended to ship to Lebanon via the port of Montreal, “he said.
The report also said that “as a result of his recent war with Israel, Hizbullah suffers from a severe financial crisis.” He added: “The Israelis have destroyed large parts of its enormous military arsenal and its financial origins, and most importantly, the conflict destroyed vast areas of the Shiite majority in Lebanon in which the party is centered. It deprives him of basic social support, at a time when Lebanon is studying ways to remove its weapon.
He continued: “With this, Canada is considered a center for theft of car and international smuggling, and Hizbullah is expected to benefit from the exploitation of this existing criminal activity. According to INTERPOL for 2024, Canada is classified from among the first ten countries in car theft. Also, a study conducted by the Canadian Insurance Office in 2017 says that a large part of tens of thousands of vehicles stolen annually in Canada says It is escaped abroad by organized crime groups, including to West Africa via Italy and Lebanon.
He added: “In the meantime, Canada witnessed during the past years an increase in car theft and smuggling to foreign destinations, and the group of auto insurance companies in Quebec an increase of 55% in the carft carriages in the province between 2013 and 2023, while the Canadian Insurance Office later described it as a national crisis. Other statistics also indicate that the percentage reached 58%, while the province of Ontario witnessed an increase of 48% in the theft of Cars during the same period. ”
He continued: “The port of Montreal is the main outlet for the exit of stolen cars to the outside, according to the National Association to Combat the Labor Counterbones and Car Proquans, which have included Beirut as a major destination for stolen cars.
