Earth Association: The phenomenon of oak trees threatens forests

In a statement, the Earth Association – Lebanon indicated that “in the last days, views were repeated in several areas of the districts of Matn, Kesrouan, Jubil and Batroun about a disturbing phenomenon: the oak trees are dressed and naked, whether separately or collectively.”
She added: “From here the Earth Association goes to the Ministry of Agriculture to demand a scientific investigation that explains the reasons for this phenomenon, and evaluates the reality of threatened forests, all the way to identifying the causes, whether it is a specific disease, or as a result of climate change and water scarcity, or an explosion in the numbers of types of insects or larvae in exchange for the decline in the normal numbers of its predators such as birds. It is possible to combat this phenomenon in a sustainable manner or avoid its recurrence in the future. ”
