The positions launched by Syrian President Ahmed al -Shara towards Lebanon formed a wide interest in the official and political circles. Sharia said that “Lebanon should benefit from the new renaissance of Syria, otherwise it may lose a lot.” Considering that Syria represents a great opportunity for Lebanon if relations are built on correct foundations.

Al -Sharaa indicated that his country seeks to “establish a relationship with Lebanon from country to country, based on economic treatments, and to achieve stability and the common interest between the two peoples,” pointing to Damascus’s aspiration to write a new history of Lebanese -Syrian relations, based on liberating the memory from the burdens of the past.
He added: “There are those who seek to portray Syria as an existential threat or as terrorism, while others are trying to turn down in new Syria to settle accounts with the Hezbollah party, and we are neither this nor that.”
Al-Shara said: I looked to write a new history of Lebanese-Syrian relations and liberating memory from the past legacy, noting that we want a relationship with Lebanon from a country to a country based on economic treatments, stability and a common interest.
The Sharia President stressed: The Syrian investment in sectarian polarization and politics in Lebanon was a major mistake against the two countries and should not be repeated.
He pointed out that he “abdicated the wounds caused by Hezbollah to Syria” after the liberation of Damascus, and rejected the option of confrontation, preferring to establish a new stage characterized by stability and cooperation.
At the regional level, Sharia focused on the importance of economic integration between the countries of the region, stressing that it will not hesitate to take any decision or agreement that serves the interest of Syria and the region.
He also revealed the existence of “advanced” research on a security agreement between Damascus and Tel Aviv, stressing that “any agreement with Israel will only be on the basis of the 1974 armistice line.”
Al -Shara stressed at the conclusion of his speech on the unity of Syria and the rejection of any existence of a weapon outside the authority of the state, in a clear indication of his adherence to the sovereignty of the Syrian decision and the construction of a strong and stable state.
