It seems that the English club Liverpool is heading towards a hot summer that may witness the largest rebuilding process in the team in years, after it has already bid farewell to a number of prominent names at the end of the 2025-2026 season.

Anfield Stadium witnessed touching moments in the final round of the season, after the fans bid farewell to Egyptian star Mohamed Salah and Scottish full-back Andy Robertson, and the club also bid farewell to defender Ibrahima Konate.

The recent period also witnessed important technical changes, after the departure of Dutch coach Arne Slot, which opened the door to a new phase within the English club.

Liverpool FC announced the appointment of Spaniard Andoni Iraola as the team’s technical director, succeeding Slot.

Iraola, 43, will coach the team starting from the 2026-27 season until the summer of 2028.

Liverpool finished in fifth place last season in the English Premier League and will play next season in the Champions League.

According to a report published by “The Athletic” newspaper, the list of potential departures may expand to include 9 additional players during the current summer transfer period.

Curtis Jones

The English midfielder faces an uncertain future in light of increasing interest from Inter Milan, as Liverpool’s management studies potential offers for the player.

Harvey Elliott

The young star prefers to wait to find out the new coach’s vision and his role within the upcoming artistic project before making a final decision about his future.

Federico Chiesa

It seems that the Italian winger’s journey with Liverpool is nearing its end after a period during which he did not succeed in imposing himself permanently within the starting lineup, with several Italian clubs interested in returning him to the Italian League.

Calvin Ramsey

The young right-back is considered one of the most prominent candidates for departure, after suffering from injuries and lack of participation, amid a growing conviction that he needs to undergo a new experience.

Loans awaited for young talents

Liverpool’s management is also moving to give a number of rising talents the opportunity to gain experience through loan, led by Trey Nyony, Kieran Morrison, James McConnell, Stefan Bajcetic, and Jayden Danes.

The administration believes that having these players receive regular playing minutes with other teams will be better for their technical development in the coming season.

Summer of big change

If these moves are made, Liverpool may witness the departure of more than ten players during the current transfer market, in one of the largest restructuring processes the club has known in recent years.

The biggest challenge for the new administration will be to compensate for the departure of influential names, most notably Mohamed Salah, who left an exceptional legacy that is difficult to replace on and off the field.
