Real Madrid’s legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas confirmed that he does not want Portuguese Jose Mourinho to return to coach the Spanish team.

It has been strongly reported in the media recently that Mourinho (63 years old) is about to return to the Madrid club for a second term to replace current coach Alvaro Arbeloa after a difficult season for the Spanish team.

But Casillas, who won five Spanish league titles and three Champions League titles over 16 years with Real Madrid, as well as playing under Mourinho, said he did not agree with this return.

Casillas (44 years old) wrote through his account on the “X” platform: “I have no problem with Mourinho. He seems like a great professional coach to me.”

The former Spanish international goalkeeper continued: “I think there are other coaches who are more qualified to manage the club that represents my life, and this is just a personal opinion.”

Mourinho is currently coaching the Portuguese club Benfica, with whom he has a contract extending until the summer of next year, while most media reports agree that the coach, nicknamed “The Special One,” will return to coach Real Madrid starting in the new season. (Russia Today)
