After years of obstructing Caesar, a pivotal station to activate the Arab gas pipeline

The General Coordinator of the Lebanese Alliance for Good Governance, Maroun Al-Khouli, praised the tripartite meeting of the energy ministers of Lebanon, Jordan and Syria in Amman, considering it a pivotal step to strengthen electrical connectivity and gas exchange.

Al-Khouli pointed out that this cooperation, which was hindered for years by political sanctions, especially the “Caesar Act,” would today provide stable energy and lower costs by activating the Arab gas pipeline, which would ease the burden on the Lebanese citizen who relies on private generators.

The statement confirmed that Lebanon’s electricity plants are technically ready to operate on gas, stressing the need to transform this step into a sustainable national policy that ends monopoly and establishes a fair and transparent energy system away from waste.
