Extending the deadline for the temporary import of cars and yachts until the end of May

The General Directorate of Customs issued an announcement regarding extending the temporary permit period for the import of vehicles and yachts, as follows:

1- It was decided to extend the temporary permit period for the import of cars, yachts, and motorcycles into Lebanon for the purpose of tourism, until 5/31/2026 inclusive. This extension includes temporary data from the (IM5) form, international traffic books, or temporary import licenses whose validity period is valid between the date of issuance of this announcement and the date of 5/31/2026, or until the expiry date of the above-mentioned books if their expiry date is before 5/31/2026.

2- The period of approvals granted to settle the temporary import status (re-export or status for local consumption) of the above-mentioned items shall also be extended until the date of 5/31/2026 inclusive, provided that the period granted for the adjustment falls between the date of issuance of this announcement and the date of 5/31/2026.

3- The provisions of this announcement do not apply to the aforementioned items for which the specified period has expired before the date of issuance of this announcement, as any delay remains until requests to settle the situation are submitted.

4- This announcement will be extended by a later decision when necessary.
