Google announced the addition of a new feature to the Google Photos application that allows images and videos to be copied directly through the sharing system, without having to download them first to the phone. This step aims to simplify and speed up the process of exchanging content on Android phones.
Previously, the user had to download the photo or video from the cloud to the device before sharing it, which took additional time and depended on the internet speed. Now, this step has been significantly reduced with the new update.
This feature is based on a simple mechanism: when you select an image or video in the application and press the share button, a new option appears called “Copy.” When used, files are saved directly to the system clipboard, allowing the user to paste them later into any application that supports photos or videos, such as messaging applications, social networks, or note applications.
This feature is very useful when you need to send content quickly, or when sharing a large number of photos and videos, as it saves time and reduces the waiting period for loading.
However, it should be noted that the copied version may be of lower quality than the original, in order to speed up the process and reduce data consumption, which may slightly affect the quality of the image or video.
This feature is not limited to images only, but also includes video clips, as they can be copied and pasted in the same way into other applications.
The feature also supports integration with the GBoard keyboard, where copied files are stored in the clipboard, allowing them to be accessed later even after copying other items, and this increases ease of use in quick interactions.
This step comes as part of a series of continuous improvements to the “Google Photos” application, with the aim of enhancing the user experience in terms of speed and ease of sharing, in addition to organizing and saving content.
