Representative Ali Fayyad, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, stated that the shortest path to achieving stability in southern Lebanon lies in completing the withdrawal of Israeli army forces, stressing that the continued Israeli military presence is the main reason for the continued state of tension.
In the context of his interview with Al Jazeera, Fayyad explained that Hezbollah is fighting this battle with purely Lebanese goals, denying any connection to this confrontation with external accounts or agendas that do not serve the Lebanese interest. He added that the resistance had already taken advantage of Israel’s preoccupation with the Iran war, but he stressed that the primary goal was not to support Tehran, but rather to achieve purely Lebanese goals and interests.
Regarding the political aspect, Fayyad indicated that the party did not express a principled objection to the diplomatic track, but he criticized what he described as the policy of concessions, considering that any political solution must preserve national interests and not harm them.
He stressed that the calm equation is completely clear, and that its main key is Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory, considering this as the natural starting point for restoring stability in the south.
