Sudan is at a crossroads: debtors are at the forefront of the political scene

The diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE, Anwar Gargash, confirmed that the growing international presence of the Sudanese civil forces represents the most prominent development in the course of the current crisis, considering that achieving a civil transfer of power is the only way to guarantee Sudan’s unity, stability and prosperity.

In a post on the “X” platform on Thursday, Gargash praised what he described as the “remarkable progress” of these forces on the international scene, highlighting their active participation in both New York and Washington.

Gargash said in the context of his comment on the political scene: “Apart from the obscenities of the Port Sudan delegate to the United Nations and the withholding of the American visa from General Al-Burhan, the most important development in the Sudanese crisis is the remarkable progress of the civilian forces on the international scene, and their effective presence in New York and Washington,” meaning the Sudanese army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan. He stressed by saying: “The future of Sudan is not made by guns, and the civil transfer of power is the path towards a unified, stable and prosperous Sudan.”

The Emirati position comes to link strengthening the presence of civilians in international forums with the possibility of achieving a political settlement, in exchange for refusing to rely on military force to shape the country’s future, in conjunction with the ongoing controversy over Sudan’s diplomatic representation in the United Nations and Al-Burhan’s failure to obtain an American entry visa.
