The Southern Council launches a support plan and distributes the first batch in Baalbek

The head of the Union of Municipalities of South Baalbek, Ziad Tlais, received 681 shares allocated for displaced people from the towns of Brital, Talya, Hortala and Taybeh. These shares come within the initiative of the Council of the South to provide 30,000 shares, which will be distributed successively to 11 municipal unions, including the unions of Baalbek-Hermel, Northern Bekaa, and East Zahle.

These quotas were delivered to the villages affiliated with the Southern Baalbek Union in the presence of prominent figures, including the central municipal affairs official in the Amal Movement, Hajj “Bassam Tleis,” the municipal work official in Hezbollah, Sheikh “Mahdi Mustafa,” the municipal and elective affairs official, “Subhi Al-Araibi,” the media official in the Amal Movement, “Hamza Sharaf,” the head of the Association of Mukhtars of Southern Baalbek, “Ahmed Tleis,” and the mayor of Brital, “Abbas Zaki.” Ismail,” in addition to representatives of the municipalities of Talia, Hortaala, and Taibe.

Tlais stressed the interest of the government and the Council of the South in following up on the conditions of the displaced in Baalbek-Hermel, the northern Bekaa, and eastern Zahle. He praised the commitment of the government and the Southern Council to the required standards in providing aid and providing the necessary care.

He also expressed his thanks to the unions of municipalities and mukhtars, stressing the importance of continuing to provide food rations and cleaning materials. He called for unifying efforts to ensure that aid reaches those in need in the north, south and western Bekaa alike.

For his part, the head of the Federation of Municipalities of Southern Baalbek, Ziad Tlais, expressed his gratitude to the Southern Council for this initiative and its interest in the displaced, and called on the Ministry of Social Affairs to activate its role, especially with regard to the “Aman” card, which has been suspended for three months, and to pay attention to the poorest families who did not receive any aid during the same period.
