Batroun – before noon:
On Tuesday morning, the city of Batroun witnessed a horrific traffic accident that resulted in a number of injuries, as a result of two vehicles colliding under the Batroun Hospital Bridge, which required urgent intervention from the specialized ambulance teams.
In field details, the accident occurred between a small pickup truck and a Rapid, and resulted in a number of people being injured of varying severity.
Immediately, ambulance teams from both the General Directorate of Civil Defense and the Lebanese Red Cross rushed to the accident site. It provided first aid on the ground to the injured, before transporting them successively to nearby hospitals to receive the necessary treatment.
At the time of preparing this report, the official authorities had not issued an accurate toll of the number of wounded or the nature of their injuries, while investigations are still ongoing to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
This accident comes in a series of traffic accidents that occur on Lebanese roads from time to time, resulting from several factors including excessive speed, road conditions, and traffic density, which reaffirms the necessity of strict adherence to traffic safety rules, especially on vital and main roads.
