Press warning: A common error raises the temperature of the router and threatens to damage it

Hot internet routers do not necessarily mean there is a technical malfunction, as electronic devices emit heat during their normal operation. However, excessive temperatures may negatively affect the performance efficiency and lifespan of the device, which requires intervention and follow-up.

The safe temperatures that routers can withstand vary depending on the type and specifications. It is therefore advisable to consult the manufacturer’s manual for the recommended operating range.

There are many reasons behind the high temperature of devices, the first of which is: placing them under direct sunlight, or near heating sources, as well as poor ventilation and dust accumulation on the cooling vents.

To reduce this problem, it is preferable to choose open, well-ventilated places to place the device, while not covering it or surrounding it with objects, and making sure to clean the ventilation holes periodically.

If you notice an abnormal increase in temperature, it is advisable to disconnect the power supply from the device and leave it to cool completely before restarting it, making sure to use an original or officially approved power adapter.

However, if excessive heating continues and recurs despite applying these preventive measures, this may indicate the presence of an internal malfunction that requires a technical examination of the device.
