The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Rima Karami, held a meeting with a joint delegation from the European Union Embassy and the German Development Bank (KFW), during which a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate educational infrastructure and develop school buildings was discussed.
The meeting addressed the needs of the educational sector and the priorities of the Ministry of Education’s next phase, especially those related to providing a safe educational environment and ensuring a school seat for every child, in a way that maintains the quality and continuity of education.
The two sides discussed joint action paths to rehabilitate infrastructure, which include building new schools, strengthening educational buildings that suffered severe damage, as well as restoring facilities that sustained minor damage.
These discussions come in the context of the European Union’s response to the Ministry’s plan and strategic priorities to address the damage caused to the school sector, in continuous coordination with international bodies supporting the provision of the necessary needs for the educational process.
