The General Directorate of Passports in Saudi Arabia will begin, as of Sunday, implementing a broad and expanded package of measures to correct the conditions of Yemeni nationals residing in the Kingdom irregularly, within a time limit of two months. This move comes in implementation of the generous directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and in response to the request submitted by the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi.
The new mechanism covers four main categories: Where you specialize First category For Yemenis who do not have documents or passports, it was decided to grant them a free visitor visa for a period of six months. To benefit from this, it is required to book an electronic appointment in advance through the “Absher” platform, specify the location of the correction and the review date, in addition to submitting official documents proving Yemeni nationality, whether they are passports or travel documents issued by the Yemeni embassy.
With regard toSecond categoryIt includes holders of expired “visitor IDs” and holders of visit visas of various types who have expired and whose vital characteristics have previously been registered in Saudi security systems. The Passport Department explained that their visas will be extended automatically for a period of six months and without the need to visit the passport department headquarters, provided that they possess valid passports.
As for Third category It targets residents whose residency has expired, as the systems allow them – if their travel documents are valid – to move to work for new employers who need their services, through the digital channels of the Ministries of Interior, Human Resources and Social Development, represented by the “Absher” and “Qawi” platforms for professional workers, and “Musaned” for domestic workers, without the need to review government departments. This category also gives those who wish to leave the right to obtain a final exit visa freed from restrictions that prevent them from returning to the Kingdom later.
Include Fourth category Absentee workers who hold valid travel documents, whose conditions will be corrected by canceling the absenteeism reports registered against them, and facilitating the process of transferring their services to new employers through the “Qawi” and “Musaned” platforms.
To ensure the flow of work and speed of completion, the General Directorate of Passports has identified specialized centers to correct the conditions of violators of the border security system, distributed geographically in various regions of the Kingdom, with four centers in the Riyadh region, three centers in each of Asir and the Eastern Province, and two centers in each of Mecca, Jazan, and Al-Jawf, in addition to one center in each of Najran, Medina, Al-Baha, the Northern Borders, Tabuk, Al-Qassim, and Hail.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Ministry of Interior is implementing these measures in coordination and joint cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Human Resources and Social Development, in addition to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), as an embodiment of the Kingdom’s firm positions and its continued keenness to provide comprehensive support and assistance to the brotherly Yemeni people.
