In light of the escalating debate over the electricity sector crisis and financing responsibilities, and the accompanying announcement by Energy Minister Joe Al-Saddi of his retirement, parliamentary calls have emerged to provide livelihood solutions to political disputes.
In an exclusive statement to “Lebanon Debate,” MP Alain Aoun considered that Minister Al-Saddi’s retreat step represents a “political stance” through which he expresses specific demands that he submitted to the government.
Aoun stressed that the priority at the current stage must focus on achieving practical results that alleviate the burden of the crisis on citizens, regardless of the political controversy surrounding resignation or seclusion.
The representative acknowledged that there is no “magic solution” to the electricity crisis due to its need for time, but at the same time he stressed the need to take practical and immediate measures and measures, even if they are partial, to alleviate the burden of living, expressing his hope that efforts to address this issue will yield effective solutions that will end the suffering of the electricity sector.
