A legal crisis erupts between Norwegian star Erling Haaland and the Norwegian airline, against the backdrop of the latter’s use of attributes related to the player in a promotional post on social media platforms without obtaining the necessary official approvals.
The roots of the dispute go back to the company publishing a picture of one of its planes with a design inspired by Haaland’s famous hairstyle, accompanied by a promotional phrase linked to his Norwegian identity. Although the company later deleted the post, the player’s team decided to resort to the judiciary, considering what happened as an illegal exploitation of his personal brand.
For its part, the management of the Norwegian company confirmed that it had received the lawsuit, expressing its surprise at this legal escalation, and explaining that the post came in the context of spontaneous content that is in line with popular trends on social media networks.
The Oslo Court is scheduled to hold a procedural session to decide the dispute between the two parties on October 9.
