The Jordanian Football Association announced that it had accepted the resignation of the Federation’s Secretary General, Samar Nassar, and assigned Farah Al-Badarneh to assume the duties of the position actingly, against the backdrop of the television broadcast crisis of the friendly match that brought together the Jordanian and Syrian teams and ended in a positive draw (1-1), as part of their preparations for the upcoming matches.
Nassar’s resignation came a few days after the match, which witnessed widespread technical problems in television broadcasting, including a sound interruption, a defect in the image, and errors in displaying the result on the screen, in addition to the beIN Sports network being forced to stop broadcasting due to the signal being unstable.
In the wake of the crisis, the Jordanian Federation issued a statement in which it offered an official apology to the fans, explaining that the broadcasting rights were assigned to a specialized company following a delay in responding to its broadcast offer, and that a sudden malfunction affected the Internet service designated for transmitting the signal, despite all technical tests being carried out before the start of the match. The Federation also stressed that it has taken a package of organizational and technical measures to prevent the recurrence of such gaps in future entitlements.
To ensure the regularity and continuity of administrative work, the Federation’s Board of Directors decided to assign the duties of the General Secretariat to Farah Al-Badarneh in her capacity as Acting Secretary-General.
