Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Ibrahim al-Moussawi, launched a sharp attack on the Prime Minister’s speech before the United Nations General Assembly, considering that it “completely ignored the Israeli attacks, victims, and destruction in Lebanon,” and was devoid of any reference to massacres against civilians, the bulldozing of villages, and the destruction of infrastructure.
Al-Moussawi’s statements came during a memorial ceremony held in the town of Shamstar in the Bekaa Valley on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the martyrdom of Ali Samir al-Haj Hassan and his family, where he touched on a number of the most prominent political and national issues on the local scene, including arms exclusivity, the resolution of war and peace, and the framework agreement.
Al-Moussawi criticized the authority’s performance and its approach to the concept of the state, questioning the absence of the army’s role in defending the Lebanese, and considering that the continuation of the Israeli attacks in the town of Mansouri after the ceasefire agreement on November 27, 2024 reflects “the absence of a political decision by the authority to assign the army to confront the attacks,” and “leaving entire villages to the enemy.” He described the authority as “tyrannical and conspiring against its homeland,” stressing that those who saved the state were the resistance fighters who achieved the liberation of 2000 without authoritarian demands.
In a related context, Al-Moussawi described the “Framework Agreement” as “disastrous, humiliating, and surrendering,” considering that preventing the Lebanese people from suing Israel and giving up the cards of power makes the authority lose its “national and moral capacity.” He warned against betting on the United States, stressing that whoever entered into this agreement “threw every card in his hands.”
Al-Moussawi concluded by emphasizing that the approach committed to the thought of Imam Musa al-Sadr and the commandments of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah refuses to be led by “conspiracies,” calling for a stage of “patience, steadfastness, and awareness,” noting that the Islamic Republic of Iran confirms, through the “Islamabad equation,” its rejection of any agreement that does not put Lebanon at the head of its provisions and guarantee the cessation of aggression against it.
