The Lebanese political debate has entered a new phase of tension, against the backdrop of statements by a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, Representative Ali Fayyad, to which a member of the “Lebanese Phalange” bloc, Representative Adeeb Abdel Masih, responded with a series of questions about the reality of southern Lebanon, the capabilities of the resistance, and the path of reconstruction.
Representative Ali Fayyad had confirmed, during a celebration organized by “Hezbollah” in the city of Sidon to commemorate the second anniversary of the party’s former Secretary-Generals Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safi al-Din, that the resistance had “recovered its full health.” Fayyad pointed out that despite the targeting of leaders and the devastating occupation war against villages and civilians, the resistance proved its steadfastness and ability to withstand and inflict losses on the enemy. He considered that the Israeli bets on eliminating the resistance or separating its incubating environment from it had failed, stressing that the party is proceeding under the leadership of its Secretary-General Sheikh Naeem Qassem “with steady steps, a wise vision and a cohesive structure” to complete the path of the previous leadership.
On the other hand, Representative Adeeb Abdel Masih directed a direct response to Fayyad, beginning with a greeting before asking a series of questions that dealt with the field and the humanitarian and political situation. Abdul Masih asked: “Can the people of the dear south return to their villages and regain their property? Can you defeat the enemy and stop their bulldozing of lands, demolishing homes and blowing up tunnels? Can you renew the Blue Line?”
Abdul Masih continued his questions, saying: “Is the resistance capable of reconstruction? Can Iran support you? Has the nation and the people fully recovered like you? And will your complete recovery build a nation and institutions and preserve coexistence?” He concluded his message with the phrase: “In all circumstances and whatever the answer, who told you: Al-Awafi.”
