In a spontaneous move before the start of the meeting of the ministerial committee in charge of dialogue with the General Labor Union, the Minister of Labor, Mohamed Haider, arrived today at the Council of Ministers headquarters in the Museum District carrying a box of sweets, which added an atmosphere of optimism regarding the course of the discussions.
The correspondent of the “Lebanon Debate” website reported that the arrival of Minister Haider at this scene, coinciding with the arrival of ministers to participate in the meeting, suggested a desire for the results of the session to carry positive news. When asked whether this step was an indication of future goodness, Haider responded positively, saying: “There is always goodness.”
This meeting comes in the context of the ongoing dialogue between the government and the General Labor Union, to discuss a number of pressing social and living issues, most notably the conditions of workers, purchasing power, and social policies.
The session will be held in the temporary headquarters of the Council of Ministers in the Museum area, which the government has returned to use in accordance with the provisions of Article 65 of the Constitution, which requires that Council of Ministers meetings be held periodically in a special headquarters. While these files are being discussed very seriously, the photo of the Minister of Labor and the box of candy remained the most prominent topic of the spontaneous atmosphere before the start of the meeting, awaiting the decisions of the committee’s results.
