Beirut – Today, Sunday, the American Embassy in Beirut commemorated the forty-second anniversary of the attack that targeted its headquarters in the Awkar area in 1984, remembering the victims of the American and Lebanese workers who died as a result of the attack.
The embassy said in a statement published on its official account on the “X” platform: “Today, September 20, marks the forty-second anniversary of the terrorist attack that targeted the American embassy in Awkar in 1984.”
She added in her statement: “On this anniversary, we remember and honor our American and Lebanese colleagues who lost their lives, and we stand by their families and all those affected by this tragic attack.”
The embassy concluded its message by emphasizing that “their memory will remain present in our conscience.”
