
– From the beginning of the year until August 21: it responded to 925 complaints, carried out 15,124 field investigations, and wrote 659 arrest reports.
– During the week of August 17 until August 21: it responded to 42 complaints and carried out 448 investigations, which resulted in the writing of 20 arrest reports.
Decisions were issued to suspend trading against 25 commercial institutions after it was proven that their products did not comply with the required specifications. In exchange for allowing trading to four institutions after they reconfigured their products and proven their compliance with the specifications.
It reported that 321 seizure reports targeted electric generators alone, i.e. 49%, out of a total of 659 seizure reports filed since the beginning of the year.
The Ministry of Economy and Trade, raising the slogan “Every Citizen is a Monitor,” asks citizens and consumers to file complaints against any violations they observe, either through its electronic application (MoET Digital Services), or through the Consumer Association-Lebanon hotline (01750650).
