According to reports, Benzema is no longer in coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans, while Al Hilal has begun searching for a new striker, and Englishman Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa striker, is among the most prominent options.
The negotiations were complicated due to the financial dues, as Benzema demanded his full salary for the final year of his contract, which was rejected by Al-Hilal and the Saudi League, which bears part of his salary.
According to journalist Pedro Almeida, Benzema may return to European stadiums after his departure from Al Hilal.
Benzema spent 14 years with Real Madrid, before moving to Al-Ittihad in 2023, then to Al-Hilal at the beginning of this year.
He played 14 matches with Al Hilal, during which he scored 10 goals and made 9 assists, while his contract extends until June 2027.
