The Department of Information and Public Relations at the General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense issued a statement stating that the renewal of the fire required the intervention of teams from various centers, supported by a number of mechanisms, to resume suppression operations and work to limit the spread of the fire.
The Directorate confirmed that the elements are currently continuing suppression operations.
In parallel with field efforts, a Lebanese army helicopter continues its operations to contribute to extinguishing the fire in the Ayto forest, after the fire renewed in it this Sunday morning.
The fire broke out yesterday, Saturday, in the forests of Ehden, where members of the Lebanese Civil Defense were able to extinguish it after intensive efforts to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to additional areas.
Extinguishing operations were carried out with the participation of teams from various centers and using a number of mechanisms, as the elements worked to contain the fire, limit its spread, and achieve control.
After extinguishing the fire, civil defense teams continued cooling operations at the site to prevent the recurrence of the fire and ensure that it does not ignite again, before the fire renewed on Sunday and the teams resumed operations to combat it.
