The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denied the allegations circulating regarding the detention of Iranian pilots, revealing the details of what happened after Iranian pilots violated Qatari airspace last March.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry explained that the competent authorities contacted the Iranian pilots immediately after they violated Qatari airspace, and before the clash occurred, stressing that the measures that were taken came after communicating with them.
She added that Qatari search teams carried out operations to search for the remains of Iranian pilots, in parallel with making contacts with the Iranian side with the aim of coordinating the file.
The Ministry revealed that Qatar contacted Iran to hand over the remains of one of the pilots, but the Iranian side has not responded yet, according to the Qatari Foreign Ministry statement.
These Qatari clarifications come in light of circulating allegations regarding the fate of Iranian pilots, which prompted Doha to deny the presence of any pilots in its custody and reveal the communications it had with Tehran regarding the remains.
