While the marriage document revealed new details related to the civil ceremony that took place in the Portuguese city of Cascais, including the names of witnesses and the property system chosen by the couple, according to what was reported by the Portuguese newspaper “Jornal de Notícias.”
It also indicated that the civil marriage ceremony was held on Tuesday, August 11, at the couple’s home in the city of Cascais, a full year after announcing their engagement.
Four witnesses were also present: Miguel Baixão, a friend of Ronaldo since his formative days at Sporting Lisbon, Georgina’s sister Ivana Rodriguez, Spanish jeweler Jose Rodriguez Sangil and his wife Monica Gonzalez Martinez.
However, Ronaldo’s family was absent. His mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his siblings were absent from the celebration, which was held away from the limelight and in a very private atmosphere.
After Ronaldo and Georgina posted a photo of their wedding rings on social media, both Dolores and Katia put the heart symbol in the comments. The next day, Katia visited her brother’s house in Cascais after returning from Madeira Island.
Separation of property
As for property, the official marriage record shows that Ronaldo and Georgina chose a system of separating their wealth.
They also signed a prenuptial agreement on August 10, one day before the ceremony, at a notary office in Lisbon.
The marriage registry also revealed that the couple’s usual residence is still in Riyadh, and that neither of them changed their name after marriage.
