
The National Authority for Human Rights hosted a dialogue session entitled: “The role of the Arab Network for National Institutions for Human Rights”, in the framework of the official visit by the network to the UAE, with the aim of expanding areas of institutional cooperation.
The session was moderated by the Chairman of the National Authority for Human Rights, Maksoud Cruz, stressing that “the organization of this session reflects the commitment of the authority to enhance constructive dialogue and openness to Arab and international experiences”, stressing that “regional cooperation in the field of human rights is a key factor in consolidating the principles of justice and equality and preserving human dignity, in line with the vision and approach of the UAE in this field.” For his part, the Secretary -General of the Arab Network of National Institutions for Human Rights reviewed Sultan bin Hassan Al -Jamali efforts made by the network to support member institutions and enhance regional coordination in human rights issues. The participants discussed a number of main axes, including developing coordination mechanisms between national institutions, expanding training and capacity -building programs, in addition to keeping pace with the human rights challenges at the regional and international levels.
