The Security Council session is postponed to vote on the renewal of UNIFIL and the American position

The current political week concludes a very cautious anticipation of the entitlement to the UN Security Council vote on the extension of the international force operating in the southern UNIFIL, which was specified next Monday, knowing that an anxious ambiguity is still prevailing at the atmosphere and climates of the pre -emptive consultations that took place this week in preparation for resolving the extension destination and its period and whether it will witness a change in the nature of the tasks of these forces. Longing with the Security Council session from next Monday to Wednesday, August 27 or Friday, 29 of it, which indicated that international interactions between the Security Council members on the extension have not yet been humiliated to reach a settlement. It seems that there is a correlation between the continuous stumbling of a settlement on the extension of UNIFIL and the movement made by the American delegates Tom Brak and Morgan Ortigos between Lebanon and Israel after their recent visit to Beirut, as it was expected that Brak would return to Lebanon to return Israel to the paper that Barak agreed with with the Lebanese side.

The “Al -Watan Call” stated that the Security Council session, which was scheduled for Monday to vote on the renewal of the “UNIFIL” state, was postponed without a date for another session to be appointed. This reflects the depth of differences, especially the American -French, about the renewal of UNIFIL. Also, the answer to the extension has not reached Lebanon, as the American position is still blurry and the discussions are not yet over.
The brigade wrote: Lebanon was waiting for the security council session, which will also vote next Monday on the renewal of the UNIFIL forces in the south. But the information from an official Masar reported that the Security Council session that was scheduled was postponed, either for Wednesday August 27 or Thursday on 28 of it, and if the agreement is not possible, these two days will be postponed to the last day of the session, i.e. August 29, until an agreement is reached on the formula that will be adopted in light of the dispute between America and most members of the remaining security council.
