Akulina Al-Shayeb won the gold medal in the European Open Judo Championship for women, which was held in Estonia.

Al-Shayeb excelled in the under-78 kilogram weight category, which was held in the capital, Tallinn. She achieved a series of distinguished victories, as she won her first match over the Polish player by knockout, then defeated the Ukrainian player by knockout, before deciding the final match against a Croatian player to win the gold medal and raise Lebanon’s name high in this European competition.

A week ago, Al-Shayeb participated in a training camp in Spain as part of her technical preparation program, and she is continuing her intensive preparations for the Olympic classification journey, in an effort to qualify for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
