He said in a statement: “The exorbitant high price of gasoline has increased, with the plate exceeding $28, and we do not know where developments and events are headed due to the war.” He pointed out that “this issue constitutes an additional burden on the Lebanese citizen, who is already suffering under the weight of the stifling economic and living crises,” pointing out that “the continued rise in prices is directly reflected in the market movement and leads to a noticeable decline in sales.”
He continued: “The high cost of fuel does not only affect vehicle owners, but also affects various production and service sectors, which increases the daily burdens on citizens and doubles their suffering in these delicate circumstances that Lebanon is going through.”
He concluded by stressing “the need to take quick steps to mitigate the impact of the crisis,” calling for “a realistic approach that takes into account the difficult social and economic conditions and contributes to reducing the negative repercussions of the rise in global oil prices on the Lebanese.”
