The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced that it has prevented Egyptian club Zamalek from registering any new deals during the next three transfer periods.
FIFA explained on its official website, on Wednesday, that it was decided to suspend Zamalek’s registration for an additional period of three periods, bringing the total number of suspension decisions to 17 decisions.
The club needs to pay more than $6 million to settle the dues of players and clubs before May 31, in order to lift the registration suspension penalty and obtain a license to participate in the African Confederation Championships for next season.
The new decision is related to the issue of the benefits of Beninese striker Samson Akinola, the former team player who left two seasons ago to the Kuwaiti club Kazma.
This comes at a time when Zamalek faces important challenges at the local and continental levels, as it is close to winning the Egyptian League title, as it is enough for it to obtain one point from its last match against Ceramica Cleopatra to win the title.
As for the continent, the team is preparing to face USM Algeria in the second leg of the tournament final, on Saturday evening, after losing the first leg by an unanswered goal, which forces it to win by more than one goal in Cairo to be crowned the title.
