Prince Ali wrote in a tweet on the “X” platform: “We followed with great appreciation the great efforts made by our sons Yazan Al-Naimat and Adham Al-Quraishi during the treatment and rehabilitation journey over the past months, and their sincere desire to join the stars in the World Cup, but the injury prevented them this time.”
He added in another post, “All wishes to them for a full recovery and a stronger return to represent Jordan in the Asian Cup. Al-Nashama is always up to the dream and responsibility, and we are all confident in their ability to honor Jordan in the World Cup.”
Al-Naimat and Al-Quraishi have been absent from the Jordanian national team since late last year after they suffered a cruciate ligament tear while participating in the Arab Cup competition that took place in the Qatari capital, Doha, and they both underwent surgery.
Al-Naimat and Al-Quraishi contributed to Jordan’s qualification for the first time to the FIFA World Cup finals, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Jordanian team will meet in the first round with Austria, Algeria and Argentina in Group Ten.
