During his conversation with analysts on Wall Street, Nadella explained that the new agreement represents “a good deal for everyone,” stressing that “Microsoft” is keen to maintain a “win-win” model that ensures continued cooperation between the two companies.
Broad access at no extra cost
Nadella pointed out that Microsoft still retains access to OpenAI’s intellectual property, including advanced models and smart agent products, but without having to pay fees for it, according to a report published by the TechCrunch website.
Reports had raised questions about the impact of the new agreement, especially after Microsoft gave up its exclusive right to use OpenAI technologies, which opened the door for competitors such as Amazon to enhance their cooperation with the emerging company.
But Nadella downplayed these concerns, pointing out that Microsoft’s performance in the artificial intelligence sector remains strong, as revenues from this sector exceeded an average of $37 billion annually, with a growth of 123% on an annual basis.
